TRADES/HOUR REQUIREMENTS

 

INDUSTRIAL MAINTENANCE MECHANICS:

   This Trade requires 8,000 On-The-Job Training and 4-Years. There are also 230 Related Instruction Hours for every year you are an Apprentice, totaling 690 hours of RI. There are 8 periods in this program. Each period is 1,000 hours of OJT and 6 Months. Meaning the Apprentice must have 1,000 hours of OJT and 6 Months to move to the next period. Apprentices do not get paid during training. 

 

HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATORS:

   This Trade requires 6,000 On-The-Job Training Hours and 3-Years. There are also 230 Related Instruction Hours for every year you are an Apprentice, 690 hours of RI.  There are 6 periods in this program. Each period is 1,000 hours of OJT and 6 Months. Meaning the Apprentice must have 1,000 hours of OJT and 6 Months to move to the next period. Apprentices do not get paid during training. 

 

CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT MECHANIC:

CRANE OPERATOR: 

   This Trade requires 6,000 On-The-Job Training Hours and 3-Years There are also 230 Related Instruction Hours for every year you are an Apprentice, a total of 690 hours of RI. There are 6 periods in this program. Each period is 1,000 hours of OJT and 6 Months. Meaning the Apprentice must have 1,000 hours of OJT and 6 Months to move to the next period. Apprentices do not get paid for training.

Related Instruction Training

​

Operators are the 2nd and 4th Saturdays every month 

​

Stationary and Mechanics are the 1st and 3rd Saturday every month

​

No training on 5th weeks

​

There will be scheduled Mandatory Meetings

​

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • As an Apprentice, you have the responsibility to complete all On-The-Job Training Hours and Related Instruction.

  • Related Instruction Hours can be completed on your time off or on Saturdays.

  • Apprentices are to complete sections of their workbooks and passing each chapter with a 70% or better. 

  • WorkBooks are to be brought with you to training on your specific training dates. If you do not have your workbook with you, you will be sent home for the day. 

  • Apprentices must give enough notice to be excused from training by Kristen.

  • More responsibilities will be discussed at Orientation.
